Volunteer

There are lots of ways to help. If you would love to be a part of the rescue, we are always looking for dedicated volunteers to assist with: home visits, screening applications, help with special events like our meet-and-greets and more.

Every month we save dozens of wonderful dogs from local and Southern kill shelters and find placement for them in safe, nurturing homes. Please consider joining us in this incredibly rewarding effort; we would love to have you on the team.

As a shelterless rescue, we rely heavily on the generosity of people who are willing to open their homes and hearts to our dogs until they are adopted. As a foster home, your job is to love, care for, and feed a homeless or abandoned dog until she finds her own forever family. The approval process for our foster homes is the same as for adopters, so if you are interested in fostering, please submit a foster application.

A home visit is required for all our adopters. As a home visitor, your role is to be our eyes and ears and make sure the home would provide a safe, loving environment for one of our dogs. A form is provided to you prior to each visit, so you know exactly what to look for and ask.

We have a need for volunteers to help screen applications. This role requires conducting a phone interview, doing a vet check, finding a volunteer to do the home visit, maintaining contact with foster moms and adopter about adoption progress, and finalizing adoptions. Generally, you would manage the adoption approval process from start to finish.

Come help us wrangle dogs at meet and greets, help out at our fundraising events, or even think up, coordinate and run a new fundraising event!

Occasionally we need people to help our dogs get from one location to another. A valid driver’s license, car, a crate (depending on the dog), and a desire to help are all you need!

Do have a special skill or talent and would like to volunteer your time? We’d love to hear from you!
